Hey folks! Just thought we'd give you an update of where we're at and where we're going this year.
January is a good time to start, right? Well, we started off the year back in Newfoundland! We had some great shows at O'Reilly's in St. John's to kick off 2015 (click here to see us kicking off the festivities on NYE) and we're hoping to get back that way again soon! While we were there we met a ton of new friends and also got to share the stage with some great bands; Eastern Passage, Tarahan, and The Irish Descendants!
On the heels of this excursion, Derina is back doing a few solo performances around the city at her usual haunts (look for updates on the calendar). One interesting gig this month is at the "Ice On Whyte" festival on Saturday, January 24th where she'll be singing under the big tent at the annual ice carving festival. Stop by!
Also, Derina will be performing live on the air at CKUA this month! She's going to be featured on "The Celtic Show" with Andy Donnelly on Friday, January 30th from 6:30 - 7:00PM and we do invite you all to tune in. You can listen to CKUA on 94.7 FM in Edmonton or on-line here.
Finally, we're pleased to say that we've officially started the journey towards a new album! This is a pretty exciting time for us, as we're looking to have some new recorded material out by this summer. We are in the initial stages of picking songs we'd like to arrange and record and from there, it's rehearse, rehearse, rehearse; and then off to the studio to lay it down! We're looking forward to giving you some more music - look for it this summer. We've got lots of things coming up so stay tuned folks.
